"The "ice" effect did work for a very, very short time.
What it looked like.... as you came down the steeps and you first saw the big main room. A laser from Mara would shoot out and hit the roof/ceiling just above your point of view. A sheet of Ice would fall breaking apart as it fell.
The real ice would fall into the water at the bottom of the main chamber.
You could not tell that it was ice and it happen very fast. This effect was only triggered when another sheet of ice was ready to fall making it happen about once every 10 minutes or so."
"The ice falling from the ceiling was suppose to be lava. Orange/red black light dye was mixed into the water that went into the ice machine. The ice would be like the type of ice you would get out of a Slurpee machine.
When the ice was released the black lights would make it glow like lava.
Depending on what time of day you rode the attraction more than likely determined how much, if at all, if you would see this effect. Mainly due to how fast the ice machine could replenish itself.
You can image the amount of ice needed to be released every time a ride vehicle cycles thru.
The older the attraction grew the more the ice machine wore out until it eventually rusted up. The entire machine needs to be completely replaced.
And because it was installed in such an inaccessible place the only way to remove said ice machine is to remove the roof and lifted it out with a large crane or helicopter. (I've been told the ice machine is quite large.)
So the effect was left to rust. The effect only lasted for the first year of operation. But if any other Mice Chatters have a better memory let me know."
